Why attend

The Scotland Excel Conference was established in 2009 as a platform for local authority procurement professionals to come together to learn and share best practice. From small beginnings, it has expanded to encompass a broad selection of topics relating to the delivery of public services, and has attracted expert speakers from a variety of sectors.

This year, our conference theme is ‘inclusive growth’.  For the first time, we are opening up attendance to delegates from across local authorities and other public or third sector organisations that share an interest in local development.

The agenda covers key areas that contribute to the economic and social wellbeing of communities including local supply chains, affordable housing and sustainable care.

So why should you attend?

If you work in procurement

Inclusive growth has been a feature of public sector strategies and plans for some time now. This conference will look at how those plans can translate into procurement practice, providing plenty of inspiration and advice on how to manage tenders and contracts to support inclusive growth within communities.

If you work in economic development

This conference will look at how wider public sector priorities impact at a local level and consider how partnership working can support economic growth. It has been designed to give economic development professionals a better understanding of the levers that procurement colleagues have at their disposal to embrace inclusive growth - and vice versa.

If you work for a housing association

The procurement of new social housing will provide comfort and security for thousands of people and help tackle inclusion, child poverty and homelessness. This conference will look at other ways procurement can help drive the inclusion agenda and consider how partnership working can support economic growth.

If you work in the public or third sector

You will have seen Scottish Government’s inclusive growth agenda showing up in policies, strategies and plans for some time now. But what does it mean at a practical level? This conference will look at public sector inclusive growth priorities and how public, private and third sector organisations can work to support this agenda.

We hope you will join us at the Scotland Excel Conference 2020, the perfect opportunity to hear from expert speakers, participate in practice focused workshops and network with like-minded colleagues.
